Hotel History
The Hotel de Paris has been a family-owned business for 4 generations with a long history of expertise and savoir-faire.
Already an inn in 1869, the hotel was dependent on wine and carbon sales. During this time, the avenue was still called Chaussée du Maine with the number 17, which then later became number 51 avenue du Maine on 1 February 1877.
In 1890, the inn became a boarding house.
Then during the 1930s, Mr and Mrs Biscarat created the Hotel de Paris.
Mr Ayral, Mrs Biscarat's nephew, took over the hotel with his wife in 1964.
In 1968, Mr and Mrs Ayral built the small buildings of the interior courtyard. It was there that the interior gardens were created.
Then in 1970, their daughter, Françoise Ayral, and son-in-law, Denis Petitgenêt, added to this family story and launched major construction and investments, including the complete renovation of the main building (where only the walls and roof remained) and the creation of rooms with private bathrooms and WC in 1975 and 1976.
